: Repro rubber floor mats ! Anybody else got 'em ?
RS3SDL2MG Jan 11th, 09, 06:34 AM I got the repro rubber floor mat's from rick's several year's ago in the 732 bright blue and they looked great , but now the front one's have turned green
the 732 bright blue stuff in 67's turn's green over time , has anybody got any idea of ANYTHING I can do to these ? another thing that I can't figure out is why only the front one's changed color  the rear one's still look just like they did when I bought them

gro51 Jan 11th, 09, 07:34 AM I have those in black. I've had 'em for three years and the color is fine. They are a pain to keep clean though. That's weird how the color changed. Is it parked outside? Maybe the sunlight?
RS3SDL2MG Jan 11th, 09, 08:02 AM car stays in the garage (SHED) covered up year round except for sat cruz night's april thru october ,
zdld17 Jan 11th, 09, 08:32 AM I got them, also have my factory mats, they are orginally green, same color as your blue that turned green. The repro are over 5 years old at least. Call Rick's .
Only problem I have is , the driver side keeps sliding forward, the little grippers underneath just don't do the job. Long ago there were little floor mat retension "S" clips that would clip to mat and edge of carpet, no longer available, guess its too old school.
Any chance someone swapped with you, when you weren't looking?
RS3SDL2MG Jan 11th, 09, 09:18 AM no , nobody swapped , but it is that big a color difference , I doubt rick's would do anything ,
I thought about trying to paint or dye them but probbly won't work ,,
DjD Jan 11th, 09, 09:58 AM Hey Schmoe (it's his listed name guys),
What have you used to clean them? My guess is the fronts get dirty more often then the rears and something you use on them caused them to discolor...
Oh, you should check with the supplier or manufacture, if they have a know problem you might just get them replaced at no cost. Nothing ventured nothing gained...
RS3SDL2MG Jan 11th, 09, 10:00 AM yea I do wash the front's a lot , I just take them out and wash the with soap and water ? that should not have done any harm
I will e-mail rick's and see what they say ,,,,,,,
RS3SDL2MG Feb 7th, 10, 07:11 AM update : I have since this thread was started tossed these mat's , and THE REAR ONE'S TURNED GREEN TOO, anyway these cost $125 BUCK's plus shipping and should last for a long long time ,,,,, but they won't ,
anyway I've done lost that $140 buck's it's gone e-mailed rick's they have me on this one they say that a return must be made within a certain time frame and with this product thats not possible because when they are new THEY ARE BEAUTIFULL ! EXACT REPRODUCTIONS OF THE FACTOTY MATS ! by the time they change color they are to old to be sent back ,
I really love the look these have and the cool old feel they add to the car's interior SO WHAT NOW
the light blue one's are out of the question no use to even think about those unless OER announce's a major improvement to the rubber they are made of ,
HAS ANYBODY ON HERE GOT DARK BLUE ONES AND HAVE HAD THEM FOR AT LEAST A YEAR ?
DID THEY STAY BLUE ?
the dark blue one's would not look as good in my car but they would look OK if theywould stay blue ,,,
any opinion's from guy's that have these ??????
RS3SDL2MG Feb 7th, 10, 07:27 AM here is a pic of the dark blue one's , ricks has them listed as being for 69 as 67 never had a dark blue interior mats are the same other than the color , these are dark but at least they are blue ,,I may consider a set of these if some members on here say they have stayed blue ,,,,,
