I am trying to find something close to the original color for my console, I sprayed Semi-Gloss on it but it seems to have too much shine? What is closer Satin or Semi-Flat? Thanks Guys......alan

http://www.rickscamaros.com/product.asp?pf_id=CP-47&dept_id=3446# Lightly dull the finish with a liquid passo (WHICH IS A LIQUID SAND PAPER) and re-spray it with a low luster or a satin... Also when you a spray a wet even coat, don't re-spray it when its wet ( it will get that semi-gloss look). If it needs a second coat wait until its completely dry and try to dull it up and re-paint.

I just did my console and used Krylon Fusion satin black. It may be just a bit too glossy, but it's very close. Like Skip said, do a couple light coats and you'll be fine.

I just did mine this weekend also with the Krylon Fusion satin black ( about $4.00 @ Wal-Mart) Very happy with the results. Just make sure you clean off all the surfaces before spraying with a ammonia based cleaner, such as Windex.

Testor's makes a product called Dullcote. It's clear and flat, the more coats the flatter it looks (I think). I used it on the top of my dash to tone down the gloss , might work on the consol if you think it's too shiny. Should be available at your local hobby shop.
