The Camaro has a Gen V 454 vice OE 396. cjm465 Jan 14th, 09, 05:13 AM I wish they had shown the tag. X-22 in Black with numbers matching. That was a buy. 1968Motion427SSNova Jan 14th, 09, 07:22 AM Real X-22 cowel tag? Hatman Jan 14th, 09, 07:26 AM I thought both were pretty cheap - loved both of them. The Camaro has a Gen V 454 vice OE 396. The Nova had the 454, the 69 X22 Camaro was suppost to have the original drivetrain. Look up the desciption on B.J. & you be the judge.I think its lot # 79 clill Jan 14th, 09, 07:33 AM I saw the L78. the tag was too painted over to read what color it was supposed to be. I didn't see anything to make me think it wasn't the real tag though. My guess was it was a real car but a different color. I didn't spend alot of time on it though. Well, I HAVE to comment on this one. A ZR1 and a 'muscle car' are from different eras, so comparing them is probably not kosher, but I wasn't the one to do it (above). I'm a huge fan of late sixties'muscle cars.. which I've owned since new and still own some..... But.. a 'stock' ZR1 will chew up and spit out the tailpipe any Yenko camaro you want to bring on, in any form of automotive competition. I'm not particularly fond of the reg C4 series corvettes either (except for the convenience of the Clamshell hood), but the ZR1 has the totally unique LT5 engine and a unique body! A stock ZR1 will run 12 second quarters at over 110 mph, get to 165 mph before you can say scat, run 180 mph on the top end, get between 25-30 mpg on the interstate with the AC running listening to the Bose stereo! ... and you get to listen to the sounds a 32 valve, twin Overhead cam v8 makes all the while! :) Bgonz 69 Jan 14th, 09, 12:12 PM 39k plus the 10% buyer fee .. How nice/correct was it ??? 39k seems pretty low considering a 69 L78 that needed a complete resto went to 42k last week on Ebay and DIDNT meet the reserve. I'm a little nervous as I'm gonna be sellin soon  bob Hylton Jan 14th, 09, 12:36 PM That Saturn for $3,500 was a good buy for someone looking for a good driver for their kid. skipdaddie Jan 14th, 09, 01:39 PM What do you mean by "scrap title?" Could the car be titled and driven in any state? Is it just a branded title? Z282NV Jan 14th, 09, 04:27 PM Well, I HAVE to comment on this one. Them to what they really were people thats looking for a nice restored car, they want them straight and slick and original or certified paper work is the only way to go love those 67-69 z28,s Vintage 68 Jan 14th, 09, 05:49 PM ... 8k for a 2001 Aztec  I think I just threw-up in my throat a little bit  al8apexer Jan 14th, 09, 05:55 PM How nice/correct was it ??? 39k seems pretty low considering a 69 L78 that needed a complete resto went to 42k last week on Ebay and DIDNT meet the reserve. Could the car be titled and driven in any state? Is it just a branded title? the majority of the cars from GM were "scrap" titles, i think that means that they can not be titled in most states. I know in Michigan and Florida once a car has a scrap or salvage title there is nothing you can do to get it titled and back on the street ... (pretty sure this is a move by GM to cover their a$$ in case of issues down the road ... hey we sold it to you as SCRAP ...) listen to the spiel they state before every GM car they sell, not intended for any use, etc long list of them basically saying you are buying it for parts only fiveforty Jan 14th, 09, 06:10 PM On the Nova there was a ding in the RR wheel well lip on the quarter, on the bottom of the quarter you could see the wet sanding residue that ran down that they did not clean off and i know there was something else but do not remember. If you can pick out that stuff on TV imagine what you would see up close. NHBandit Jan 14th, 09, 07:02 PM the majority of the cars from GM were "scrap" titles, i think that means that they can not be titled in most states. In NH if it's over 15 years old it dosn't need a title. In Rhode Island it's 10 years. I used to know a guy who, for a fee, would do a paper shuffle through NH to get out of state cars titled. It's not so easy anymore though. The way it works is let's say you're in Mass and you have a 67 Camaro you bought from some old timer and he can't locate the title. You sell it to someone in NH on paper. The NH guy registers the car (no mandatory insurance in NH) in his name. He then sells the car back to you and sends you the NH registration, a bill of sale, and a State of NH VIN verification form which is signed by either a state trooper or a licensed NH State inspection station and you go get a title in your state with no problem since you "bought" the car in a non-title state. The VIN verification form is what we use here insted of a title on older vehicles. The way it's supposed to work is the car gets checked to make sure the VIN is present,, matches the paperwork and hasn't been tampered with. But... because it can be signed by a state inspection station (any garage, gas station, etc) it's not too hard to find one who will sign off on it without actually seeing the car for a 12 pack of Bud & a Benjamin or 2.. Simple as mud huh.... 69Z28-RS Jan 15th, 09, 12:14 PM I thought someone would speak up...you did not disappoint me Gary..LOL.. .... I'd come and give you a ride in a ZR1.. and you WOULD be turned on by the roar of an LT5 engine at full throttle between 4,000 and 7,100 rpms.. *G* .. and you'd probably be holding your breath as we went thru 3rd, and then 4th, and hit fifth.. and you'd wonder WHEN and at what speed the exhileratio would end.. :) 98blackburb Jan 15th, 09, 03:36 PM Kinda gets boring with those Saturns and late models getting auctioned off, I don't care about them. Z282NV Jan 15th, 09, 03:43 PM [quote=69Z28-RS;1139706....I'd come and give you a ride in a ZR1.. and you WOULD be turned on by the roar of an LT5 engine at full throttle between 4,000 and 7,100 rpms.. :)[/quote] Yes, I wished I lived a bit closer so I could take you up on that offer....then I would love to go for a spin on your 69 Z28RS...:beers: |
