Hey guys,

I have a 72 RS with a 700R4 in it, and I'm in the process of installing the interior. I want to use the console, but having trouble figuring out what I can do for a shifter. I've looked at B&M, and they have one that will work in a 73 and later but not for 72 and older.

I'm not apposed to the T handle shifter, if I can find one that works with the 700R4. to be frank, i'm probably ok with just about any shifter option at this point :)

Thanks!

Do you have the stock shifter? It should work with a 700R4.

I may have it in the attic, but if not I can locate one. Do you have to modify it in order to have all gears, or do you just get OD, 3rd and 2nd?

thanks!

Edit:

I found a conversion kit for the stock shifter from year one for $120. I'm assuming that is the option you're referencing?

Thanks again!

I just used a stock PRNDL column shifter with mine. You can't get to first gear, but at $60 per minute, I'll let the tranny decide when to use first gear. I used a governor that shifts the tranny at the right rpm and it works automatically.
