I posted in here a few months ago about how the idiot restoring my 69 camaro removed my trim tag, which was not needed, to repair some damage to the firewall. Now I need to put it back on. Anyone know how to get rivits similar to the original ones?

I personally don't know... I have a eBay tool bar and did a quick search. They claim to be NOS????

some people have no clue what those trim tags are .. my friend put a huge screw the middle of his Nova tag when he put a MSD box on it .. I told him "why did you do that" he said "whats that tag" .. LOL .. what a fruit. anyways when he cleaned the firewall up he removed the tag completely

A '69 Camaro just sold at B-J for 40K-ish I think - with NO trim tag...

Any what i would call Custom shaves them off. Once you step away from original it really just doesn't matter anymore. I would keep it for records with the rest of the paperwork.

That's a bummer, I feel for the OP. If the tag and car are legit, I would think that there has to be some instances of leniency where a trim tag is removed that is out of one's control, like a damaged/repaired/replaced firewall? I've seen many cars on here that have new firewall sheet metal which I'm sure the tags have had to have been removed. I would think that some sort of documentation, pix of the repair process or even if the car was registered with a Camaro website like CRG prior to the repairs would be a 'pass'. What then? Is the car still devalued? I'd rather see a original car with its original tags that has been restored with 'repop' rivets than walk by the same car smashed in a junkyard with no tags on it. I'm not trying to fire up anyone, just trying to see both sides of the issue. :)

I'm talking about top shelf pro touring cars specifically. The tag has no meaning.
