I see a lot of interior parts say w/o air cond, or W air conditioning. Mine does not have AC, but it looks as though everything is there inside other than the unit itself under the hood- How can I tell if my interior dash parts, etc would be considered w or wo ac. I hope I made sense. My heater control has hot and cold, etc..:beers: Seems I've been drinking huh?

It's a 68. It seems everything is there other than the ac unit itself, that's why I don't understand the differences, or what I should be looking for. It sounds like, if factory air wasn't installed, everything should be considered w/o ac, correct?

(yes)........there is alot of differences..heater core unit, radiator, wiring harness, dashvents and control units..if your car does not have air its a non ac car..if it has air its a ac car...ac car means you have evrything you need to run the air system...what does your car have?

68's were the first year with astro ventilation, and they have the big round ventds in the corners of the dash. Lots of people associate those dash vents with A/C, but most of the time, it just wasn't so in 68.

If your 68 is an a/c car, the dash corner vents will not be connected to scoops in the cowl.
Also, 68's without air did not have the top center of the dash (above the heater ctls) cut out for the center a/c vent.

Thanks for the info- the big round air vents may have thrown me off. I need to look at pics of ac dashes, and compare.

should have vacuum tubes thru the firewall to control venting as well, with a small vacuum can on the inner fender not far from the brake booster.

Big difference in the ac vs non-ac cowl plenum.

So, I have a 68 that came w/ac & I removed it. Next I bought a converson air box for firewall. Now I need to know about astrovent to cowl. What about the dash controls, it is broken now. What about the under dash stuff.
