It's done! And I thought it couldn't be...

Anyway, according to my friend's G-Tech Pro (or whatever), it should be good for .19 sec reduction in ET, and about 1 MPH. Sounds pretty much like what the magazines say when they test out this sort of thing.

Sweet...any details on construction?

It's simple. The sheet-metal deals the hose hooks up to can be found in the HVAC section at Home Depot. It's got a 4" inlet, which comes down to a 3.25" x 8" (or something) rectangular section.

You'll have to cut them at the rectangular side so they'll sit flush with the filter (circular cut). Once you're done with both of them, get some aluminum sheet stock and cut it to go around the filter. Then, cut out the rectangular openings in the sheet stock, and bend it to a diameter to match the filter base and top.

This would be easiest with a 3" filter, but I have a 4" and should provide a little more air.

By the way, shouldn't cost more than $25 for everything.

Nice job Matt! Looks alot like my setup....only mine's hideously ugly! http://www.camaros.net/forum/eek.gif LOL

Anyways, after I installed the dual snorkel setup, I could tell a slight increase in performance right away....and that is even with a 2bbl. carb & intake manifold!!

If I can find the ducting like yours, I might consider keeping it. Otherwise, I would like to switch to a functional cowl hood setup someday...

Yeah, I didn't see the point in paying the $125 for a fiberglass one either. Problem is, you'll have to butcher it up to clear the HEI! They should sell a unit that is already relieved in the back to clear it...

Anyway, that tubing is very smooth on the inside, so flow turbulence and reduction should be minimal. It's aluminum, sturdy but flexes well, and is only about $7.
