Hi guys and gals:

I found a 2002 SS convertible one owner car with 6,300 miles on it. Silver, black top, black leather interior 12 cd changer V8 (I assume LS-1 correct?) 4wheel discs, ABS all around, automatic. I have only seen it at night so far but it looks pretty sweet http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/thumb.gif

Being a first gen guy I do not know what the car is worth. Any guesses? They are asking $22,995 and I am guessing I can get them down from there. I will check Kelly Blue Book too.

Also, what can I do to moderatly increase performance to say 350-400 RWHP and how much will it cost? Will the tranny and rear end hold it and what other things should I be concerned with if I do this? Is it worth leaving this car stock to hold the value for the future?

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

18-20K would be more reasonable for a car like that. Go to LS1tech.com and read the classifieds for comparables. The best advice I have to increase the hop of an LS1 car is to install the GM hot cam and long tube headers, exhaust and low restriction intake. Those things alone will get you the power you are looking for.

Good luck!

Hey Mark,

I'm thinking 18k tops in todays market. The mileage is nice so its worth a bit more than most, but I wouldnt pay more than 18k. I bought a 02 Ram air WS-6 convertible 3 years ago for 19k. I think it had 16k miles at the time.

Its a buyers market for sure

Dont touch the car at all if your concerned about resale. When I was looking I had a hard time finding an untouched car and wouldnt even look at one that was modified.

Just my .02
