Installed the msd tach adapter as the tech explained and after all the back ache and sore neck from being under the dash upside down the tach will only read up to 3500 rpm no matter what you give it.
Any body else had this troubble!

Stan, sorry I missed your first thread...

When the engine goes to 3500, does the tach hang there, or does it drop to zero?
Have you ever run it without the adapter, and if you did, what did it do?
Are you connecting to the tach trigger wire off the msd box?
(connecting to the neg coil when you have a CD box won't work, and can damage the tach.)

Also in the electrical sticky is this lil do it yourself gizmo I made a few years ago to straighten out my OER tach. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=81136&highlight=stroker

Had the exact same symptom. Turned out the needle was hitting the face of the gauge!!!

The car had a auto meter sport comp tach prior to installation of the stock tach
used the factory plug directly to the back of the tach
The tach rises to 3 to 3500 smoothly but kind of slow dosen't seem to follow the sound of the motor
Going to check the coil wire config to be sure the way he had it before going any further
Thanks a million for ya'lls responce in the matter

Talked to the tech at msd, said I might need A CAPACITOR .10 cent item that they would be nice enought to send me ......think they could include that in the adapter order and add 10 cents to the price wether you need it or not!!!
We will see if that works and I will let ya'll know.
