: Where's my old frost green '69?
Melrose RS Jan 24th, 09, 08:45 AM Wondering if my first car is still out there.
69 plane jane, frost green in and out with spoiler, black Z stripes and 327/210 powerglide, ten bolt rear. Last known whereabouts Eastern/central CT. Sold to a guy named Ernie last name something french, in 1985.
If you've got a Frost Green 69 in CT that was originally Fathom Green, shout out.
classicfan1 Jan 24th, 09, 10:07 PM Don't get your hopes up pal. There was an episode of Home Improvement when Tim is doing Tool Time in a junkyard. He gets to the crusher and finds his first car, a 1963 Corvair convertible in line. When Jill finally said OK to get it, Tim got there just in time to have the old mut hold him up for a second or two and see the car get "turned into a tortilla".
Finding a first car once you sell it is very difficult, impossible. You will save yourself lots pain, stress and other agonies if you just try to forget about it and find a replica or somthing. But this is just me. I'm a pesimistic guy (I say the glass is half empty).

Boy, what a ball of hope this guy is! Do you have the VIN for your old car? If it's still around, it could be any color by now.
buzzworth Jan 25th, 09, 04:42 AM Watch Barrett-Jackson next year.......it might turn out to be the next discussion vehicle after it gets the COPO treatment. (or Z28, ZL-1....you choose)

Melrose RS Jan 25th, 09, 07:03 AM No, I don't have the vin. I wouldn't be interested in buying back anyway. I just want to know if it's still on the road:thumbsup:
classicfan1 Jan 26th, 09, 07:13 AM It might very well be on the road still. But it could have been restored or customized once or twice. It could be a totally different car than the one you once you knew. It could be in a feild, a barn, a driveway, someone's yard, or a junkyard rotting away. If it is, it might be picked for parts and again, you won't recognize it. It could be crushed already, on its way to the crusher, or is being crushed as I type. YOU NEVER DO KNOW.
Like someone said, get the VIN#. If you do not have it, you maybe out of luck and in for a very long search. I did'nt mean to ruffle anyone's feathers but all this can be true. I'm not saying you should give up, just don't get to excited or get your hopes up.
KevinW Jan 26th, 09, 11:42 AM I agree, without the VIN, it will be tough. IMO a lot of Frost green cars are now red or some other color.
Melrose RS Jan 26th, 09, 12:00 PM This one had frost green interior also so could wind up dark green or black without changing the interior. Anything else would be a nightmarish combination!
musclecarjohn Jan 26th, 09, 12:33 PM IMO a lot of Frost green cars are now red or some other color....
...or Millenium Yellow.
SPARKY69 Jan 26th, 09, 12:38 PM if you still have the vin you can do a dmv search..
chuck69ss Jan 27th, 09, 07:37 AM I've had a frost green since 1983 so if I had seen it any time since, it would have stood out to me. I'll keep my eyes open, though. I'm in RI and am in CT and MA all the time.
