Our annual "worlds largest ice fishing extravaganza" took place today on Gull Lake, with expected to be over 10,000 people fishing for 3 hours for huge prizes like a new 4 wheel drive pickup, 4 wheelers, etc.
The HIGH temp today was 2 degrees, tonight going down to -20 but that didnt stop these folks. Listen to these short video clips. Ice Fishing Webpage (http://www.icefishing.org/index.cfm?PageID=8224)

The folks ARE having fun, you just cant see all their smiling faces :D

I spent the first half of the weekend camping with the scouts.
All day outside doing klondike derby stuff. High today was 8.
Slept on a concrete floor in a pole barn last night, I've never been so cold in my life.

In minnesota, that would be a walk in the park, those people are truly nuts.

I don't mean to threadjack .. but I'm adapting quite nicely to my new Minnesotan home! Last weekend I helped an ice carving team at the St. Paul winter carnival!! It was SO FUN! But, I got lucky - I could only help on Thursday and it was in the 20's. Then an arctic blast came through and it was in the low single digits before the wind!

Minnesotans are tough!

Sheeeesh, there's a joker in every bunch. ;)

Reminds me of that movie Grumpy Old Men. A dead fish under the seat. That's a good one. :D
