will an edelbrock preformer #2101 intake work with vortech heads?

No, bolt pattern is different, you need a #2116.

Once you get the right intake for the vrtec heads make sure you get the right gasket. There is a specific gasket for the intake to match upright with the vortec heads I know ROL sells it but dont know the part number off hand. I have the vortec heads on my 383 great flow and power for iron heads. best bang for your buck definately.
