hi all, just thought i'd throw this one out there since it comes up quite often, intake gaskets are kind of a pia on these heads, due to the unique design of the intake port (a good one imo).
i'm putting a new intake on the 406, so i searched out intake gaskets so i can port match it to my heads. i just got done with the head side of the intake port, and sce's 111123 intake gasket is just about a dead nuts match for my heads. its made for them, so go figure. all i had to do to match them to my heads was a touch up match on really only 1 side of each port, very little at all, and the floor and roof was dead on. its definately the ticket for these heads.
now all i need to do is match the manifold side and i'm ready to roll, time to go to the track for a few backup numbers on the intake swap graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Cool, thanks for the info . . . had been using Felpro 1206's on these heads -- the height is correct but the width is a little too wide.

hey glad i could help. the 1206 is what i was using too. as you say the 1206 was ok height-wise, but the 1205 was actually closer width-wise. i wasn't sure if i believed the sce gasket would work untill i saw it, but its a great fit, and a nice gasket to boot. i was starting to think i was going to have to go the trim to fit route.

Excellent info. I have this ahead of me, too. Where did you get the sce from?

i ordered mine through my local parts store, i doubt you'll find anyone stocking them, but maybe if they stock sce gaskets. just about anyone should be able to get them for you, as long as sce gaskets are available through thier distributor. in fact, now i know they work, i think i'll order a couple sets to have on hand, it took a couple days to get them. they were about 19$.
anyway, glad i could help out graemlins/beers.gif
