I just purchased a mint 84Z28 with only 8,000 miles. Everything is like new. I drove it home, and have put 100 miles on it so far. This morning when I started it up, the temp gauge tacked to the top. I turned off the car, took the wire off the sensor on the engine, tapped the gauge, and it went down. Started up, looked OK, then it tacked up again. It stays up even when the car is turned off.

Any suggestions, or do I have to bring it in to a dealer to diagnose.

The needle is just getting stuck on the black inner bezel.I have a 88 IROC and it did the same thing.All I did to fix it was loosen the inner bezel.Not a hard job no need to take to the dealer to fix this.

I will check that, but now a new problem. The oil pressure gauge goes to the proper setting, however, when the car is turned off, does not drop down to 0. It stays where it was., around 40.
