I put headers, high flow cat, and cat-back exhaust on and now my car is suffering a noticable power loss, especially 0-60. I had a diagnotic and compression check done. I was told that a plug or wire was damaged during the header install and adviced to change plugs and wires to fix. I also have a intake and rear main leaking oil. Any suggestions on what to try welcome.

Usually with a bad plugwire you wil notice the car "miss" or stumble, especially right off idle. If the car does that there is a very goos chance that either your sparkplugs and/or sparkplug wires are bad. The worst part is that changing these on an LT-1 Camaro is such a pain-in-the-you-know-what. Other than that there is no reason why you would have a loss of power due to headers, that is unless the computer has not adjusted yet.

Make sure you don't have an exhaust leak. I don't know this for a fact but I have always been told that you can loose a little torque down low when putting a high flow exhaust system on. You loose a little back pressure and as a result you loose a little torque. I personally have a 2001 SS Camaro and had a 1994 Z28. On both of them I had gutted cats and did loose a little but nothing that would make me concerned. You get most of your results in the upper RPM's. You said that you had a noticable power lose, so I think that it is probably the plugs and wires. Good luck.

Take the advice you were given about the plugs and wires. I'd bet money on thats your problem.
