Just wondering if anyone makes a 3/8 npt temperature sender for my car that will replace the 1/2 npt one? My car has the original console gauges. Thanks for the help.

View Full Version : Smaller temperature sender for my 67 with console gauges? I had to do that with my RHS heads since the holes were smaller than the early Chevy stock heads. Chrysler even uses one that's 1/4" NPT in the old K-cars & such with the 4 cylinder engines. Standard Motor Products #TS76T Dougs72Nova Jan 29th, 09, 07:00 PM Thanks guys. dnult Jan 29th, 09, 09:18 PM Measure the cold resistance of the one you have and before you give them your money for a sub, check it's resistance. They should be very close, if not the gauge won't read correctly. Everett#2390 Jan 30th, 09, 04:04 AM Good point, Dnult. Either a TS76T or TS76. If it reads open, it will be a switch for a light. If resistance is read, and like Dnult suggests, the new reading and original reading should be within a couple kohms. Both items should be at the same room temperature when reading. When installing, make sure the body of the sending unit is grounded to the head to complete the circuit. |
