My friend had one of these 3-speed SS cars. I told him it was a clone and he proved me wrong. As for the value; the protecto plate is your largest asset. Documentation is everything and if yours is correct, it definately adds to the value. I didn't catch what color this car was done in or whether it was done per the trim tag or not, that can have an effect on the value as well. But given what you have told me, here are some examples of what has been paid here in the west. A very nice SS roller, w/disc brakes, multi-leaves, fully media blasted with new quarters and front fenders, cowl hood and full interior 4-speed car with rallys and so-so tires will bring about 10K.
Last year, we sold a beautifull numbers matching hugger orange Z/28 for 43K and pre-sold a non numbers matching SS/RS with a frame off resto on it for 44K.

As for your car, you need to understand the the market is not what it was even last year. Things are a bit softer now, but, if it was as clean as you say, it would not surprise me to see the car list for 30K and end up selling for around 17K to 20K

Bob its very hard to say without pictures or a cowl tag. An x11 docent exactly mean its a SS and usually when a car has recently been painted could mean allot of different things (like lots of body work) or (bad body work, this means that from a recent paint job which is in 07 there could be problems in the near future like bubbles/ blister popping up. A good place to start looking is the under carriage to see if and how much rust there is, if any check the floor boards and trunk pan also. My guess is $15,000 to $25,000

Bob, I agree with Skeeter, you need to check and make sure you have an SS. The X-11 is just a trim option and doesn't necessarily denote an SS car. But, having disc brakes, multi-leaves, 12-bolt and if the numbers match on the engine, I would say it sounds good. Check to see if there is a bracket on the drivers side rear frame rails over the tire for the dual exhaust hanger. I am relatively certain that if you have that bracket, this was an SS car. Skeeter makes another excellent point in checking the floor pans and trunk pan for rust. This can kill the value in a blink.

The correct answer is it's worth whatever you can get someone to pay for it. 69 SS numbers matching and restored $40K+.

Or in this case, if you tell us what the seller is asking, someone will tell you if it's in the ballpark. The reason to post pics is so we can see, relative to other cars for sale, how it looks. That's the way it works. There's no magic numbers on these cars.

The other alternative is to go into Mecum Auctions, ebay, and other places like that and look at cars that have actually sold (or didn't sell at a given price, that data is useful too), and compare the one you're looking at to them.

Here's an SS350 car the seller is trying to get $49K for: http://www.camaros.net/classifieds/photoads/millbrook0608/index.html . Maybe three years ago, but not now. The grille surround needs to be painted, but it supposedly a documented 2-owner car.

Here's another: http://www.camaros.net/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=27682&cat=44

This one isn't numbers matching, and appears to be a bit confused as to what it is, but it's a fairly clean looking car, and didn't even get a nibble at $17,999. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___1969-Chevy-Camaro-SS_W0QQitemZ120370478502QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQ QddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=it em120370478502&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A13%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Here's one that's supposedly documented, and it's a Rally Sport car too. No bids at $26,500.

Assuming it is true SS awith docs, #'s match and a nice restoration, I say $25K - 28K. If it is a lesser quality restoration, but still respectable, I say $20 - 23K.
