Looked at a very nice 69 X11 convertible tonight. It has been fully
restored and is now a 396 SS clone. The car is hugger orange, black houndstooth, and black top, and black hockey stripes. Has full gauge package, built 454/TH 400 12 bolt posi w/ 3.73. All bodywork was professionaly restored. Nothing left untouched on this car.
Now for the bad news......... It was born a "123" vin car.

So..... WIW?

PS: No pics of said car.:noway:

$25K? $30K? The market is tough to pin down, and without pics to be able to evaluate the conditions (exterior, underneath, underhood, etc.), it's all just a guess. I have seen one nice looking 69 vert (Garnet Red, so it's not this car) recently that had the floors replaced and none of the vert-specific underbody bracing was put back in. It looked real nice, but had serious issues.

Real NOM SS396 cars are down in the $30K to $40K range, so my guess for an original 6 cyl car that is solid and doesn't have major issues would be what I posted above.

What are they asking, and do you know the vert-specific stuff to look for?

I agree more with $25K - $30K sight unseen.

I would not think there is much difference in value between an X11 123 car with b/b transplant, and an X11 124 car with big block transplant. Might be a negotiating point, however.
