Hello, folks!
does anybody know if this wire goes to the headlightswitch?
It has one light-blue wire and one brown. It also has a grommit, so my guess is that is shall go trough the firewall somewhere..

Lars - Yes, is should run through the firewall. The light blue comes from the headlight switch and the brown comes from the ignition switch. Both are used to control headlight door opening and closing.

On the interior side, you should have 12V on the light blue when the headlight switch is pulled fully out and 12V on the brown whenever the key is in the 'ON' position.

:beers:

ok.
But how does it connect?there isn't one connector for each wire, so it has to connect at the same place..

I think the end you are holding will pass through a hole in the firewall below the master cylinder. Then on the interior side you should find a similar connector that mates to it. This assumes your dash wiring is intact.

What is the trick to seperate the headlightswitch? I need to get the knob out, to release the entire thing, but I am too dumb to figure this out. I don't want to break anything either..:clonk:

It's a little complicated. On the switch there is a spring-loaded push button. Hold it in and pull the knob and shaft of the switch out. You have to hold the push button in hard and jiggle the knob out. Then you can unscrew the bezel. I think I used a butter knife across the bezel. There is a special tool if you want to spent the money.

here ya go :) this is my 69 unit but same spring loaded button is used. Slowly push it in, slowly pull out the shaft as you hold the pin 'in'.

So, I need to pull the lightblue wire from the headlightswitch and the brown from the ignition, and then connect them to the blue and brown from the harness, right?

"Pull" meaning disconnect? No, you should have a connector somewhere above your brake pedal with only a brown and light blue wire that mates to the one shown in your photo.

yes, I ment disconnect..
Haven't seen that connector, but it's a pain in the a$$ to see anything under the dash. But I'll sure look for it!
Thanks Thomas:beers:

Is that connector in both rs and non-rs cars?
It might be me that just don't see this, but here it looks like the light blue and brown should be disconnected..

Nope, Schematics show connections "disconnected" for clarity and illustration purposes. If I am understanding your question correctly. And as Tom said. You should have a connector in the dash harness for the RS headlights, unless the harness is wrong.

So there's no difference in RS and non-RS wiring?
I thought that since my car is not an original RS, that I had to take a shortcut and do like the picture says..But I have been wrong before..

Yes there IS a difference, hence the correct pigtail in the RS dash harness. Now that you said your car is not an origional RS the reason for your difficulty finding the connector is evident. gotta go...running late.

Scott is correct. I was assuming your car was originally an RS. On a non-original RS you won't have these two wires or diode but you can add them. It'll just take a bit more work. This also explains the difficulty in finding the hole through the firewall. I think I have a photo showing where the light blue connects on the headlight switch terminals. I'll look for it this evening.

sorry, guys!
thought I had mentioned that it wasn't an original RS :o
But now we're all on the same page..

I've got this harness. Had to turn the garage upside down to find it , but I have it.
It leaves me with 4 connectors; 2 brown and two light blue.
Pictures would be  and probably very helpful!

You need to disconnect the original brown & lt blue wires ,, plug new harness wires in & connect old wire as shown
