Ok, trying to decide what to use, looking for opinions. Do you guys go with semi gloss paint for interior metal (Dash, side panels, window trim, etc). The dash area is gloss black right now, but doesn't look like the original finish I had on my 68 when I was a kid. Semi flat maybe? Since little is original on this, just looking for good applications.

I like satin or semi gloss. I think it looks the most like original and to me it looks good.

I did a single stage black it is to glossy but I am ok with the outcome.

For a 68, anything below eye level is "low gloss", and anything above is "0 gloss" with a suede like texture. Ditzler 9266 is the low gloss black, 9317 the 0 gloss with texture.

That said, Rustoleum 7777 is a satin black that is, for most folks, indistinguishable from 9266.

i used semi gloss black ppg single stage on all that i do and it turns out great. lays down nice and flat and has a perfect low gloss to it. if you have a really shinny dash the light will catch it and blind you. been there done that and its not fun when you on the interstate.

PPG duracryl acrylic lacquer 9266 and 9317 also is what I picked up not long ago.

The paint shop hit the interior for me, just did a lousy job. It is total gloss and for fun we tested the reflectability (is that a word?) and sure enough, it could blind you in the right light.

Hit the store last night for some Rust 7777 and shot the glove box. Looks great for a hack painter. Thanks all!
