My '67 RS/SS Camaro came originally with metallic brake linings. Are there still correct replacement linings available? I've had this car since new. Thanks, Bill

I don't believe there is. NOS ones pop up on ebay once in a while. I've bought three sets (2 front and 1 rear) in the last few years. There were speed shop ones from back in the day that come on ebay too. Bottom price seems to start around 200.00 per set .If your car is manual metallic drum the master cyl. in also different. It has a 7/8 piston bore and that is the smallest bore size they had. The drums also need a special finish on them as compared to reg. brakes. Was your car a big block car? Seems like a lot of high horse big block cars got manual metallic

Thanks for the info on the brakes. No, when I ordered my car the 396 wasn't available yet and I had a couple friends with 396 Chevelle's who had oil usage problems, so I stuck with the 350. I was 19 then so didn't have a lot of insight at that time. I used the car every day (and lots of street races along with a few trips to the strip), dated my wife in it, and went on my honeymoon in it in 1968, (still have the same wife too.....lol.....so I guess I like to keep things that are special to me :)) but took it out of everyday use around 1970, and have only used it occassionally ever since. I'm big into street rods too, and use my '33 Ford a lot for car events. I also have a '37 Ford slantback and a super pristine '79 Mustang Ghia 5.0 (just turned 20,000 miles last year). The Camaro is a special car for me, and I intend to keep it for life, and turn it over to my son when I go........and he's anxious.....he loves it!

I think the closest you're going to get is from Raybestos and EBZ.
Nice story and congratulations on the wife & Camaro.

I want to say Porterfield sells them but may be off.

I know they are out there in a modern, but re-popped!
