We have a 68 Camaro
it needs a front clip
I found one on CL from a 67, cherry and cheap
I want to add hide away head lights
Is there a difference in the Fender mounting tabs for the Headlight assembly? OR is ist all one stamped sheet metal.
My parts supplier shows 2 different part numbers for RS or stock fenders.

Matthew, rs fenders are different than non-rs. The mounting tabs are of different depth in order to hide the light. In the past I was able to remove the tab plate from junk rs fenders and tack weld to standard fenders. Consider that as an option too.

There is a difference. However, non RS fenders can be asily converted to RS by installing adapter clips/brackets available from the repop vendors. They can either be bolted, riveted or welded on. Usually about $30ish for both sides.

67 fenders are also different in that they do not have the side marker lights. The car will have rear marker light, but no lights in the front unless you cut the fronts fenders for lights or weld the holes up in the back quarters.

rs fenders headlight brackets are recessed back about 2-3 inches to the firewall. This is the same for 67 and 68. Now 68's have side marker lights and different emblems. That being said, you will want to cut the hole out for the side marker light to keep it a 68 and weld up the 67 holes for emblems and redrill the holes for the 68 emblems.

That looks like a "base model" front clip, not an RS front clip. The turn signals would be in the lower valance.
