Hello, guys. I was wondering if you could help me out on some details I'm trying to add to a 69 SS/RS 396 4 speed. We are planning on detailing the driveshaft and are unsure of what color the stripes are suppose to be on this car. I did a search but didn't see anywhere on this site what would have been used on this car. I did see that they are suppose to be about 3/4" wide though. Is that correct? That and I was also going to ask about the location. I read in a few posts about them being located near the yoke or transmission end of the driveshaft, but most of the pictures I have saw of cars with these stripes they are near the rearend. If anyone could help me out I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks Team Camaro.

They should be on the end with the trans but back a little, they can be red, yellow ,white, orange, I think you can mix the colors to. Around 1/2 to 3/4 wide.I detail driveshafts for people that have been through the Concourse judging and no one said that they were wrong.

That might be because no one knows. Mine came with NO stripes on the drive shaft.

I am not 100% sure, but I think most all got stripes to identify the application, manual trans or auto trans. I have only seen a few real examples myself. The 4 speed versions I have seen have one orange stripe and 1 white stripe. My 67 z/28 has it this way.

Ive had about 50/50 of finding the stripes well enough to tell what they are.
