Custom metal roof liner (interior) installed this week. Very very happy with how it has come out, exactly what I was after. Shop has done an amazing job on it.

Wow... thats one I never thought about... very creative and I would be interested in seeing how it looks finished. Why did you decide to go that route? One thing for sure... you ain't gonna see somebody elses car @ a show like yours. That has to be one of the most original ideas I have ever seen done to a Camaro... nothing like blazing your own trail heh?

Wouldn't that get hot?? If it was 90 degrees outside, it would be terrible inside??

What's up with the back seat area? Lotsa stuff welded in there.

A buddy of mine did that on his 71 Camaro. He used the roof panel from another second gen. Is that how your's is done, with a roof skin? Looks good!

I doubt it would matter. I had a black El Camino with red cloth interior that got to 140 on a regular basis sitting in the sun all day.

Nice! thats what hot rodding is really all about! Individuality and fabrication....Just got done reading an editorial in Hot Rodding that discussed this same thing...

Keep us all posted as the project progresses....

Terry, coming from you that is a huge compliment, I will pass it on to the guy in the shop who is building it (I'm just the ideas man, the real skill is in the panel shop I am using). Your car and your work is incredible.

By the way did you see my post on my custom gauge pod...you'll love this

Did you/they put any insulation inside there? Sound as well as thermal barrier.

Insulation is in there, both sound and thermal. It is original / standard insulation plus some additional padding. There is no vibration of the internal skin, it is rock solid.

It looks like if will look good, I am wondering how the rear console is is going to come out? Look very instering.

Rear console will be flat metal. Here is a better pic of it. No stereo so it will be just flat sheet metal between the c pillars, center console and rear of custom rear buckets

Yeah I think that would be my main concern is it flapping around getting that movie set thunder sound going on.... if it doesn't do that then I say you have a great idea there.... a lot of fab work to make it look/fit right... I am interested to see the finished product....
