I'm getting conflicting info about what this car is. I'm onviously no expert, but what's available online is very confusing regarding the clusters of numbers and what they mean. I can figure out that it is a Turquoise car with a black interior, but the rest is Greek to me. Can anyone help me decode the rest of this tag??

Welcome to Team Camaro!

Decode for tag is:

Decode for body number: 038724

06D = Built the Fourth week of June.
67-12437 = Standard Interior Coupe.
LOS = Built in Van Nuys California.
760 = Standard Black Bucket Seats.
Z = (A50) Strato Bucket Seats (without headrests).
K-2 = Lower Color is Emerald Turquoise and the Vinyl Top Color is Black.
G542 = internal plant scheduling code.
Options:
2L = (M20) 4-speed floor shifter
2G = (D55) Console front compartment
3S = (Z23) Interior Decor group
3L = (Z22) Rally Sport Package
4N = (L35) SS 396

If you have the VIN, we can tell you if the tag lines up with the VIN. It looks like an original tag to my eyes (vs. being a reproduction tag), but the rivets don't look original.

The car is painted black, but there are signs of the original color on the rockers. All of that equipment is there and accounted for. the trans is a 3885010 so that looks correct. The car is also an SS. Does that show up anywhere to confirm it is a true RS/SS?

Yes. If you look at the decode I posted, it has the 3L code, so it was a rally sport, and the 4N identifies it as an SS396 car. As long as the tag is original to the car, it's a big block SS/RS.

May want to have a look at the 67 model year info on the CRG site for the other little clues: http://www.camaros.org/diffs67.shtml

Is this something you own or are just buying...? I love when I find them and they look like this one does, obviously someone lost interest in it for sometime given the amount of dust built up on it? Welcome to the site and the form, come on it the waters fine!!

Welcome Karguy.
That trim tag decodes as.............'an awsome 1st gen example to own':D:thumbsup:

'67 L35 big block combo car. Trim tag and rivets look fine to me, but I'm no expert, I'm an xp836 obsessionist.

Fill out your profile when you can Karguy and also let us know all about the car so we all can share and continue the passion of the greatest car ever to be on this planet, the Legendary Chevrolet Camaro.
