Just when I thought I had exhausted all of the cam posibilities for my future mild 327 buildup, I find this Speed-Pro Cam...I'm not at home right now so I can't run it through DD2k,but it looks like a good little street cam for a mild 327/350.

Speed-Pro Performance Chevy Small Block
Chevy 262-400 CI
1800-4400 RPM Range, 288/288 Adv Dur, @.050 214/214, Lobe Sep 112, Lift .443/.443

Category: Speed Pro Cams
Manufacturer: Federal Mogul/Sealed Power
Model Number: CS1028R

I was hoping to make power to aroud 5000~5500 RPM, so I'm not sure if it would fall on it's face at 4500 rpm's in a 327. Anyone out there ever used one? If so, I'd like to hear about the power, idle, etc.

Thanks,
Mark P.

I'm sorry, I just picked up the fact that you have a 210hp/327, so go with the CC 260HE cam, imho due to your low CR.!!!

I had typed all this before I went back and reread your COMPLETE post, sorry...

Imho, it should do fine in a mild 327 street motor!! Read, 250, 275 and 300hp /327 type motors but please watch your overall CR. here by juggling chamber size, deck height and headgasket thicknesses...

And if it is listed as an inexpensive generic cam like from the Summit and SSI cam families, the price will be a winner if you are frugal like me..

Personally I like the Crane 266/210, CC 268HE, CC 270 Magnum, Crane 272/272 and Isky 270 Mega, (it will talk to you), cams and even the Crane 274H06, (even though it will talk to you more then the others), b/c they are all of more modern designs.

But after it is all said and done, I would personally install a small solid cam and reap more power everywhere..

You might ask Harold at Lunati's by posting over at Team Chevelle for his suggestion too...
