Hey, I live in New Zealand and am planning to restore my 69 Convertible into a pro-touring/gmachine. To my knowledge there is only 3-4 convertibles in the country. I did have one a few years back too however it burnt to the ground in a garage fire. I bought another one and want this to go fast with excellent handling.
The roads here in NZ are winding and somewhat mountainous therefore I want this thing to, what we say here in NZ, "handle like f**k", which means carve corners. I want to elimate the flex in my convertible and therefore need a strong foundation. But I'm getting messed up trying to figure out whether to go for a DSE type front and rear sub-frame or a Full Chassis. Can anyone give me some advice please? The Full Chassis looks like the ticket but who builds the best one now? Or would you stick to DSE type clip ons?
Thanks,
Cameron
