I believe you would get a better response if you posted a pic of your damaged tag.

I didn't know it untill yesterday, but Heartbeat City sells them. They seem kind of pricey, and most people on this site will discourage it for good reason. Too many people being defrauded these days with cars sporting fake tags. I would think that if you photographed your car with the original tag in place, and then had a new one made with the same specs, no one would care much, but then again they might. Some people will tell you to just leave it alone or remove the tag period.

Yup. Trim Tags are sensitive on this site. If you absolutley have to have to replace the tag, Get some GOOD pictures of it still attached to the car.... and document it so there is no question of it in the future. And save the old tag where it won't get lost. If the tag is already off the car, the new tag will already be suspect in the future.... especially if it is a Z or BB car.

I'm fairly certain that Heartbeat City is sourcing their tags from trimtags.com and reselling them for a higher price. I think that's why Heartbeat City shows the exact same sample photos that are posted at trimtags.com.

If you're really determined to buy a fake tag, then I think you're better off giving your money to the company that creates the fake tags (trimtags.com), instead of giving it to the company that resells the same fake tags at higher prices (Heartbeat City).

Most people on this forum are against reproduction trim tags because of the potential for fraud with 67 and 69 Camaros caused by changing the engine code on the tag to that of a higher performance model, e.g. make a Z/28 out of a Plain Jane.

Since your car is a 1972, the engine is coded into the VIN and the potential for fraud is lowered to perhaps making your car a "good" color instead of an unpopular color.

Still, the trim tag makers are so disliked by some, they would say do not support their business for any reason whatsoever.
