yellow69RS Feb 27th, 09, 08:53 PM They made film back then?
Yeah, you could find it everywhere, mostly Kodak and some Polaroid. that Polaroid was like digital is now, you could see the pics right away, didn't have to take it to be developed and wait for it to come back. I don't want to talk about the quality of that Polaroid tho.
Jeff
DanW Feb 27th, 09, 09:22 PM Kodachrome, Ektachrome, and Afgachrome were developed at least as early as the late 50's. Here's one from an OSU Homecoming parade in October 1962:

RS3SDL2MG Feb 28th, 09, 05:24 AM the pic of the 67 I posted is one that was took with a camera that had a role of film in it and you took pic's when it was full , then you sent it out (MAILED IT) to get the negative's developed into picture's (I REMEBER MOM DOING THAT) the date on them is not the date they were taken it is the date they were developed ,
I am getting old to know that and can remember it :o
jerry67 Feb 28th, 09, 06:43 AM Here's some cool old pictures I saved while surfing, none are mine. The orange 68 was being discussed as being a possible nickey, the green69 is a COPO taken in 1970

The picture would have been taken prior to 3/31/67...when the plates and registration were issued.:beers:

I don't even have pictures of every car I've owned, but then I had 25 cars by the time I turned 25. To see a pic of my Camaro when it was "new to me" check my profile. (not for those with weak stomachs:D)

The Sleeper 327 Mar 3rd, 09, 07:19 PM no pics, but the 67 in my signature (working on the car and getting some pics for the website, just havent had time to play with it and organize it well) I was able to contact the original owner of who is now 87. Hearing the story about the car was so cool, just a little piece of history that I enjoy about the car. I asked if she had pics, wish she did, that would have been really cool.

67FREAK Mar 6th, 09, 09:32 AM My mother in law actually bought the car new, traded it in to Loyd Belt in Eldon (where my mothers family is from) I lived with my parents in Colorado at the time. My uncle bought the car from Loyd Belts, he moved to Colorado near us and couldn't make the payments so he sold it to my dad. We moved back to Jefferson City in '79, my dad gave me the car in 1983 when I turned 16. I Met my wife in '85, we were both going to Lincoln University (she is from Eldon) turned out that her mother bought the car new. WOW, what a story, I should send that into a magazine!

That's pretty darn amazing! So this car is part of the family in more ways than one. Thanks for sharing the picture and the story.

67FREAK Mar 6th, 09, 02:45 PM yes, it is quite a story. My mother in law is 18 years old in the pics, my wife and I would have been 2 years old at the time (can you say teenage mom) My family moved to colorado right after I was born. When my uncle discovered I was going to go out with a girl from eldon and I told him her name, he said that if mothers name is Debbie, she bought the car new. So when I picked her up for our first date, I asked her mom if she bought a 67 camaro back in the day, she said yes, I said "was it blue?" she said "no, it was red...wait a minute...no, it was blue, ya it was blue" . then I took her outside and said "there it is" she just just about flipped right there.
sorry, getting off topic...didn't mean to hijack this thread
molaker Mar 6th, 09, 04:49 PM David I got the pictures from the guy who sent them to me. molaker Mar 9th, 09, 09:03 AM Don, Thanks for posting the pictures of my car, of all the past owners I contacted he was the only one (2nd owner) to send me a picture. I kind of wondered why my rally wheels were mismatched as you can see it had hubcaps when it was new, When I restored the car I didn't know if it had just the bumble bee stripe or the stripe down the side I like the stripe down the side better so thats what I went with. I got lucky and put the right stripe on the car as you can see from the picture. I had no way of proving my car was an big block SS car in fact when I bought it 20-plus years ago I didn't know it either because the eng was long gone along with the org trans these pictures help along with a copy of the mso and title which shows the taxable horsepower for the state of mo. again thanks for posting my pictures Jerry
69 SKUNK Mar 9th, 09, 01:22 PM My mother in law bought this one new. '67 Capri Cream RS. She's still looking for better pics. She sold it in 1971 but the same guy still owns it. I told her if she can get it back, her favorite son in law may just be willing to subsidize the purchase. She's excited.http://i325.photobucket.com/albums/k391/TEAMDILLON/JANES67004.jpg
