It is a mix of "weather" and "water"...:) Looks nice there but at least my car is done!
Badbird Feb 28th, 09, 12:30 PM I was beginning to think a wather was some sort of a weird flying insect or something!.....It's way too early in the day to start drinking for me, typically start in the evening and today it will be plenty of Coronas w/lime slices and some excellent seedless buds!:thumbsup::beers:
Microgiant Feb 28th, 09, 01:20 PM My brother in law lives in Chandler. hey that looks like his back yard? Are you hanging out with him right now? :beers:

A yup, it's beautiful here today!! Spent a few hours battling weeds and other various types of yard work...now it's camaro time!! Tweaked a couple of things and am about to take her out for a spin!
PowerWindows Feb 28th, 09, 03:33 PM Nice play pool and landscaping. I have a diving pool and a huge back yard (15,600 sq feet is big for Tempe) but not as nice of an area to look at (gotta work on that someday - all it takes is $$$). It is beautiful this time of year in the greater Phoenix area though. Great time for car shows and cruising too. I'm heading out soon for Mesa's last Saturday of the month car show and cruise on Main street...
Will you locals be at the Central Ave Cruise? It's being held on the 11th of April this year.

That okay man, you'll be enjoying your summer while we're melting in 110 degree heat soon enough. :)
RamAirDave Feb 28th, 09, 08:32 PM Been pretty nice here the last few weeks, 60s-70s.
It freakin' snowed today.
SY1 Feb 28th, 09, 08:53 PM Looks GREAT Bill! The only thing besides the Camaro that would make it better is being at a ball park right now in Tucson or Phoenix area. Nothing like spring training time in AZ.
Sat in the hot tub one night last week, it was 44 degree and the rain melted most of the snow, back yard had ponds in it because the snow melted so fast. Next morning they're all frozen and another couple inches of fresh snow. Tonight it's 10 degrees, but they say it'll get up to 49 by Friday. Porch sitting weather around here!

Twice a year (once in the spring and once in the fall) the local greater Phoenix car crowd gets together for a Central Ave cruise similar to what went on back in the 60's and 70's. I found out about this back in the fall 03 event when I moved here. It was moved to a different area while the light rail was being constructed (wasn't as good either) but now that that is complete they've returned to the original location, Park Central Mall. Roughly 700-800 cars (I'm guessing - seems like it was everybody in town) showed up last time (Oct 08).
Here is a link to the event (thru the Desert Cruisers website):

FYI: It's like going to the Pavilions on a real good night with the added feature of a street to cruise up and down.
Also, are you aware of the last Saturday of the month cruise that Mesa has down Main? It's new but is well attended. They even had a car show with trophies awarded for various catagories this time.

Wow - I'll check both of those out! The Pavillions is getting old. It seems that everyone thinks their 2001 vette and late model mustangs are classic cars all of a sudden! I drove our '65 vette over there this weekend and there were so many late model vettes that I couldn't find a spot to park it so we left...

Pavilions has gotten really bad twice in the last 2 months I couldn’t get a parking spot and the Vetts (Gotta love them) have taken over so much parking, It looks like a car dealer. Even if you get there early every spot is saved by guys who are home and come at 4. Mesa also has started a cruise along Main Street than there is the east mesa cruise-in on Power rd and Hampton. Or there’s one in Glendale both on Saturday nights. This time of year is great too much to do for car guys.
