I got bored and tired of looking at the Camaro knowing I wanted to get a few things done. So the boys came over and we prepped the car to pull the motor tomorrow. I'm going to do a little touch up on the engine compartment and install a new torque converter.

Back in the day there were pistons that we called aluminum pop tops. I don't remember them looking quite like that. :D

Is that thermostat in right side up?

Is that thermostat in right side up?If it is, its another one of the many practical jokes that happen in the garage while the boys and I are "working" ;) -- I was under the car yesterday taking out the driveshaft and the biggest practical joker in our group dropped the transmission yoke on me  then ran away laughing --- while he wasn't looking, I kept pouring Miller Lite in his beer can -- he hates Miller Lite and I enjoyed watching him take a drink out of his can and look at it funny for a second

Its a wonder we get anything done :beers: :beers:

Ok Dave here which Doug did I meet at OC .P or .G or was it PG there must have been no parental guidence there because I cant seem to remember my wife was there but shes no help.

Anyway Doud P good luck with the motor disinstall and install don't play so much that you scrath the car I might lose a few buddies if that happened.

Ok I am thinking I met D.P are you doing the May show if so will have to hook up at the inlet again.I would say Hooters but I drove the truck there that place is just to much confusion and I don't think my car would make it in the parking lot.

Good call -- we did our best earlier today to try to tighten up the piston to wall clearance

Dave - yep -- it was DougP -- the OC show is on the calendar -- we'll get a thread going in a few weeks to make sure all the Maryland guys (and that Barefoot Dave guy from Virginia) can hook up

I think we're actually getting better at this as we get older. My buddies and I pulled the motor out, replaced the torque converter, dropped it back in the engine compartment and hooked up a few things in 1 hour 10 minutes.

I was really into my work :D

Jim - in my previous couple of posts, I loaded this last set of pictures on photobucket using their 800x600 15" screen option -- are the pictures OK or do I need to use one of their smaller options?
