I have owned many 3rd gens in the past have always like the GTA cross-lace wheels on other Chevy and Pontiac cars. I know they can be put on 1st gens as long as the correct lug nuts are used. I think if the spokes are black or dark silver would be good. Since my car is red and gold right now some stock gold ones would go good too. Does anyone have any pics of some GTA wheels on a 1st Gen, a '69 Camaro would be a plus! Has anyone had negative experiences running these wheels on a 1st Gen?

I believe it was discontinued 10-12 years ago, but the wheels I sold alot of in the 1990's were the American Racing 398. ARE 398's were the wheels you were talking about in the Pontiac GTA Trans Am crossflake/snow flake style pattern....I remember they came in white, gold & black as the most common colors....FWIW, I left the auto service industry 11 years ago this month but I know that pattern well and it was hugely popular in the 16" size and I think came in 17's later on for Corvette's...Great seller but like anything else styles & patterns changed and it was discontinued...

Here is their website....Give 'em a call....Ask 'em if they make a wheel pattern like the old ARE 398's from the 1990's. I like third gen's as well!! :beers: Good Luck!!  http://www.americanracing.com/

There's a thread on PT about them. http://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?p=494909 FYI, the GTA "rears" are 5.25" backspace ahile the GTA "fronts" are 4.5" backspace. I have a set on my 72 a-body, 4 rears and they sit perfect. I may be selling them as well if you're interested.

I was thinking about picking up a set of real 16" GTA wheels on Ebay if I decide to go that route. I actually have a set of 15" ARE cross-lace wheels on my '69 Camaro right now. For the money and cost of tires the GTA wheels are hard to beat. I am also looking at some 17" TT2 clones as well as some 17" Wheel Vintiques TTD clones. I would just like to see a picture of what the real Pontiac GTA wheels would look like on a 1st gen. In mind they give it more of a racing/auto-X look.
