Morning,

So the time has come to source a vinyl top. I'm concerned that the top will look very plasticy and shiny. The one it took off had a flatter sheen to it but that's most likely due to 40 years of sunlight. The top was/will be black.

Any experience with the different suppliers? Who makes the top closest to original texture and color?

The last time I replaced my Parchment top was 30 years ago. I just drove to a glass shop and they had the exact material in stock. Perfect.

that's year one's supplier. seems to be the only major game in town, but from what i can tell their stuff is nice. that's where i'm leaning as well..

I bought one from Rick's/Ecklers's Cat # CAVT-10B. It isn't on my car yet, but it seems to be excellent quality and the same thickness and weight as my original.

Go with the Keeautotop. Looks very correct, and there firm to the touch. Not like that fuzzy crap on the junk ones.

IMO no others campare to Kee's from Charlotte,NC.They have the repo part perfect.It matches in every way.They also make very good conv. tops

but it came out well.

kpc655, Does the new top have the padding or no padding like an original??

When I bought my 69 camaro, the kid I bought it from through in a new vinyl top in a box. The box says Vinyl Top 64-81 BLK Double Seam T848 G402 and N00001. Anyone have an idea if this is a a quality top or one of the cheap ones?
