Hi Folks,
We are proud to announce that we will be carrying the new Tremec T-56 Magnum, rated at a whopping 700 LB-FT torque. Please find the attached details of product, including part numbers, mounting information, ratios, etc.
As you will see, there are basically two ratio sets available:
1. 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.0, .74, .50 (26%, 50% RPM drop)
2. 2.97, 2.07, 1.43, 1.0, .80, .62 (20%, 38% RPM drop)
The MAGNUM is the aftermarket versions of the TR-6060 used in late model production cars like Corvette Z06, Shelby Mustang and Viper SRT10. While not stated in the brochure, there are key differences of the MAGNUM compared with the previous T-56:
1. stronger headset design - the gear teeth helix and size have been improved for strength
2. wider gears - more surface area for higher torque capacity
3. new sychro design - triple cone 1-2, double cone 3-4 & 5-6 - provides better gear speed matching during shifts for cleaner shifts; less shift effort and shorter travel
4. ground gears - improved gear tooth form = more strength & quieter operation
5. 1 pc cluster gear - unlike the 2pc cluster gears found in GM F-car and many other applications, this 1pc design is stronger.
6. large 31 spline main shaft
7. large 26 spline input shaft
8. steel shift forks
9. redesigned case with multiple shifter position - similar in concept to the TKO500/600
10. oil pump option - for cooling purposes, there will be an integral oiling pump
Keisler Engineering - the largest volume Tremec Elite Distributor - will have one of our first KIT installations in a media car being built at our southern California stocking distributor & installation center - D&P Classic (www.dpchevy.com (http://www.dpchevy.com/)) - later this month. I will be there installing the product with them on a '69 Camaro, and doing a full video shoot. I'll be able to report back with more information and video clips of the installation.
Tremec expects the first units to begin shipping later this month, although this is subject to change. Being a new product, it is often the case that delays may occur.
For any commercial information such as pricing, please visit our post in the Sponsors section.
Enjoy!
