This is my first attempt to gain information from camaro friends experiencing similar encounters. I recently installed a muncie four speed transmission in my 1967 camaro. The car had an original powerglide tranny. I ordered a backup light switch. I have tried every thing possible to adjust. When the tranny is in reverse, the lights work. As I move toward neutral the lights go out, but come back on when shifter moves closer to neutral. Could the switch be defective? Is there another way to correct the problem? Thank you in advance.

What brand of shifter and switch? A factory switch mounts totally differently than a Hurst switch.
