I have a BW T-10 I was wanting to put in my 69.Called Jegs for a shifter and they said to call B&M. They said that no installatin kit was available to put a T-10 in the 69. Can anyone give me some info on this. If I have to I will sell the T-10 and buy a Muncie. Thanks, Wayne

Is it a basic T-10 (old style, iron case) or a Super T-10 (most common with the aluminum "903" case, but also avail w/ iron "904" case).
ST10 info here: http://fiedlerh.home.att.net/BW.htm

I'm guessing you know it's a ST10 already, but figure it's worth double checking before we mislead you too much.

I had a ST10 from an '81 T/A in my '69 for a while with no issues. I used the "muncie" install kit and Hurst shifter, but had to make my own mounting bracket and tweak the shift rods/levers a bit. Last time I checked, Crash (Crashent is his user name here) was able to hook some folks up with the parts needed to drop in the ST10.

I have had a ST-10 in my 68 SS/RS 396 for the last 6 years or so?? It came out of a 79 Z/28 and it really stood up to the abuse better than the countless Muncies I had destroyed in the car years ago.

What I did was I used an old Hurst Comp Plus shifter that was from a Muncie with the stock linkage and mounting plate from the factory shifter. Then I cut and welded the shifter tower so that it would come up through the factory console location.

I know is sounds weird and when the tower is out of the car it looks even wierder ;) but when it is installed and the boot in on, it looks like any other Hurst shifter on a 4-speed car.

This is the only pic I could find. :o

I hope this helps,

I got a competition plus hurst shifter make sure it has the offset so it will line up in the middle of the tunnel and use installation kit HUU-3738609. That is the summit part number but I believe they just add the HUU.

Wayne, E-mail me for my phone number and I can sell you what you need...
I designed a custom mounting plate to use with the ST-10's and late Muncie's with the 3 bolt tail housings... Crash
