Hey guys whats up? I have a 2 spd glide with brake. The wire going into the solenoid is bare and sparking on the housing. My question is how do i take the solenoid out to repair.Or can i just replace the solenoid? Everthing works fine execept the short. Thanks Keith

My trans brake has two wires. One is hot and the other is a ground. The hot wire comes from power source then to the button down to the solenoid. When you hold in on the button it sends power to the solenoid. Dont see how you could have a hot wire down there sparking.

Trans brake solenoid replaces the OE vac modulator so it should just slide into place in the case. The same keeper is used to hold it onto the case, I think.
If the wire is bare at the junction to the solenoid shell, could you cut the wire and slide on a length of shrink tubing on the bare wire and into the solenoid and shrink it? Then take and do a half loop of the wire onto the solenoid case and tyrap it to the case to prevent the wires from dangling?

yes i can fix the wire no prob but it is bare right were it goes in and i cant get to it. to close to the floorboard its in my 68 camaro so things are very tight .so if i could take the seloind out i could get to it much better.i will look at it in a bit to see if it slides out but i dont remember seeing any hold down clamps. Thanks for youre help.

This being a glide it will screw in. Just screw it out and replace it with another one or if you are not using the brake then just put in a modulator.
