In my new project I'm sqeezing a BBC into my '91 Camaro. I need tips as to if I can keep the power brakes, or if PB's are out (booster vs. valve cover issues). Who's seen it done. Feedback please.
Thanks,
Ron

My dad has done it. What exactly do you want to know? Why are you going big block? The engine swap headers to fit are like 350-400$ These cars do really well with a small block. Also, you can not move the motor back, and the headers still fit. The mtor will do better moved back in order to get some weight off the front of the wheels. We are running a 79 ford LTD alluminum master cylander, no booster. deffinately going to need a hood scoop, not much clearnce under there. I have some advice about lighting the car, it just depends on what you are going to do with it,how far you want to go. my dads car probabbly weighs about 3000-3100 with me/him in it. he has a mild bbc running 10.50's with me driving and 10.60-10.70 with him driving with a 1.4160ft,NO NO2! I only weigh about 170, he weighs about 230lbs, it is better to be lighter :D . If you have any questions just post them, you can also email them to me, bink82199@aol.com, I do not have any pics, but I might be able to get some.

have you hit thirdgen.org yet?
a local guy built one not all that long ago, he sorta copied a jon moss car
454 HO crate motor backed by a crate 4L60 (slightly stronger 700R4) it was an RS model and he used the stock hood if I remember right
I believe he still had PB because of the short valve covers

Its really not that complicated at all... You dont have the move the motor back and all that. It'll drop right into the stock mounts. Brakes dont interfere (cept for maybe some lines), sometimes the valve covers will hit the wiper motor. Hooker sells headers but they're kinda crappy in my opinion ...I'd get a custom set made. Go to thirdgen.org's message board and do some searches - it gets beat to death over there.
