: Replacing my Muncie

Greetings rodders! Long story short here. 67 Camaro, ZZ4 motor.... Destroyed my muncie last month. I'd only put around 6-7k miles on it since it was "freshly rebuilt", but now I'm pretty certain that the majority of the internals are in pieces. Anywho, I would rather replace it with something bigger and better and the obvious answer to that is Tremec conversion. But I've recently come across 5speed.com (not Chevyclassic) that offers a "New Muncie" for around $1700. My question is, has anyone dealt with them or this "new" Muncie. If it is as good as they say, it would save me a great deal of cash and time. Thanks!!

Beau

If that's the Autogear Muncie, you can do a search here for "autogear" and find many threads discussing them.

Thanks for the input guys. Right now the ZZ4 is still "stock" with a Demon 650 dbl. but I'm bout to swap to the Thumpr bumpstick from Comp putting me around 420 alleged ponies. With a 3.08 rear, what would be best, M-20 or 21?

The M22W would be the best choice, it has a 2.56:1 first gear. An M21 is definately out with a 3.08:1 differential, the gearing would be too high. The M20 longevity would be a bit under rated for your HP.

We can give you a price for an Autogear M22W 4 speed if you are interested. Team Camaro members receive a discount.
