NEED HELP, I'M GETTING REALLY CLOSE TO FIRING UP MY CONVERSION (LT1 INTO MY 69) BUT I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO WIRE UP MY ALTERNATOR. I HAVE 4 WIRES COMING FROM MY VOLTAGE REGULTOR. AND I HAVE THE STUD ON THE BACK OF THE ALTERNATOR, ALONG WITH THE PLUG ON TOP WITH 2 SMALL WIRES COMING FROM IT. FROM INFO I HAVE SO FAR. I HAVE THE BIG RED WIRE FROM THE REGULATOR GOING TO THE STUD. AND A BIG WIRE RUNNING FROM THE STUD TO THE BATTERY HOT. ALSO I HAVE INSTALLED DAKOTA DIGITAL GAGES, NEED TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE GAGE WORK AS WELL. BEEN TOLD TO GET RID OF REGULATOR AND RUN HOT WIRE TO STUD AND ONE OF THE SMALL WIRES FROM THE PLUG IS FOR LIGHT. BUT HOW SHOULD IT ALL BE HOOKED UP. PLEASE HELP, EXCITED TO GET IT RUNNING. THANKS:confused:

Thanks, I was looking at that site earlier, and was going to try this tonight, but it did not have any info about my gages.
Sorry about what you call yelling I'm not much on typing habit to leave caps on. Will try to do better. But Ive been working on this project some, most every day for 3 months and am looking foward to hearing it run, and being able to drive it.

on my 94 lt1 IN MY 68, i have the CS144 alternator with 2 small brown wire in connector. On mine, the wire on "F" terminal goes to 12 volts switched. Thats it. Other wire cut off

Hey guys, fired it up today for the first time in 3 months, felt good. Back to the alternator. I tried to hook it up like the article memtioned but it says there should be a wire from the S to pig tale to the post. But my connector only has 2 wires in the center, none on the S (first position). the other wire I found went to the idiot light. Currently i have the big red wire that did run to the old alternator running directly to the post, and wire from the post to the hot battery post, and blue wire that was on the old alternator running to the small red coming out of my factory lt1 plug. and it is lighting up my gen light. Will this work or do i need a different plug with a S wire to pig tail to the post.
