I posted last week that I have a 69 that was originally a SB, and I am putting a 1973 454 in it. I bought what I was told where 69 BB engine stands on ebay (oringinals BB parts). I in turn bought 69 motor mounts the 2 3/8 wide stands. Well after hours of fustration I seached on here and it looks like I have 68 stands 2 1/2 wide at least one of them anyway. So I bought 68 poly motor mounts. Went to install today and now the motor sets in there caulked. The tail of the tranny touches the side of the trans tunnel and the motor is visabally caulked in the engine bay. I look at the stand and passenger stand( the shorter of the two) sets about an inch further forward. So I measured them and the passenger stand is a touch narrower at 2 3/8 while the drivers side is 2 1/2. Now I think the guy mixed a 69 the passenger stand and 68 the drivers stand. I know this long please bear with me. I called a camaro parts house and they do not show a difference in 68 BB vs 68 SB. He did measure and they are both 2 1/2 wide. Do I have mix matched stands and will the 68 stands he has for sb/bb work with my 68 motor mounts. Last but not least when you look across from fender to fender should the stands be inline with each other on a BB.

I am at my last wits on this .

Call that Camaro parts store and buy the '69 BB frame mounts.
