They did this a lot back then. They made more money installing aftermarket radios than Delco radios. Read THIS (http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=5126.0) for more info. But normally dealer would order with std am radio, but try to up grade to a jipper or in our case a radio from ARA, the a/c distributor, and offer am/fm/ 8track or later year cassette. This way no antennas had to be drilled or cable run, it was already there. No repainted antenna holes either. This also one reason why many line mechanics had a tool box full of delete plates. There was also an open market for the ARA, FrigAking or even GM add on AC. OK69 Mar 18th, 09, 05:09 PM The connections are apparently slightly different. It has a black wire down the side, then 2 wires coming out the back. Nothing labeled. I would think the black wire would be power. Maybe the case grounds to the body and the 2 wires to the speakers. Just guessing. ANybody have one of these? |
