Looking to update my tach for my 69 Camaro. Need reliability and accuracy. Factory tach moves to slow(for drag racing).
Who would you recommend. How much $$ for the conversion
Thanks

You might get a response if you rephrased. Are you driving a 3 second funny car? Your properly functioning tach should keep up fine, even reving in neutral.

Depending on how quick the car is, you may not need a different tach. I only run high 12's and didntwant a big tach in the car as it was meant to look stock. I actually us a shift light and a rev limiter and it works really well for me. Goodluck.

Thanks
I've had Auto Meter gauges in my car for years. I am switching over to the factory gauges. (Want the car's interior to look factory)Factory tach does not respond like the Auto Meter tach does. My tach is a repo. Could someone update the movement.
My car run in the 9's

Long ago, I had the same issues with the factory tach (slow response) in my '69 Z28, and I removed the original tach, stored it away with the original plastic cover. I modified another plastic cover (removed the clear plastic center) and installed a Sun Super Tach in the original's location; the SUN is much more responsive. With solid lifters it's pretty important to KNOW where your engine is when you're power shifting at redline... :).. and my redline was a bit higher than the factory redline of 6K... I had to modify the cover because the SUN was larger/deeper than the factory tach, and interfered with the clear portion of the cover. By removing the clear portion, I was able to retain as close as possible to the original factory look. I can make a photo for you if you want.
