Vintage 68 Mar 19th, 09, 09:21 AM Yes, but make sure the part quality is equal to other vendors parts on certain items... They tend to carry the 'cheapest' of available "repopped" parts in many cases ;) 19694speed Mar 19th, 09, 09:21 AM i've used them a few times in the past , no problems at all. Another great place for camaro part's is Ground up i think they are a sponsor here too. Good prices , and thier customer service is outstanding. 68Tom Mar 19th, 09, 09:21 AM I have not as of yet, Tony, but I believe they have a decent reputation. Not sure if you're aware, but Classic Industries is having a 20% off sale until the end of the month. 19694speed Mar 19th, 09, 09:32 AM I have'nt had any luck with thier 20% sale , everything I've ever needed did'nt qualify for the discount. Mike_M Mar 19th, 09, 09:38 AM I've used NPD several times, I've found the quality of the parts they sell to be at least equal to everyone else I've used. I've only had one issue with them, and it was handled promptly and above and beyond my expectation. I was truly surprised and impressed with the customer service I received. 77thor Mar 19th, 09, 09:56 AM They are probably my favorite places to buy from.... good parts and fast shipment. Gambitt Mar 19th, 09, 09:58 AM I got the interior trim strip that goes around the back glass from them a few years ago...it was smashed into a bag and there was not way it would ever straighten out. It wasn't their fault, but they had me send it back and they refunded my money and shipping...can't beat that. I do wish there was a way to know the quality of the repo pieces all of the different vendors sell. I know many of them are the same, but some of them are better than others...and I would gladly pay a little more to know the difference. SPARKY69 Mar 19th, 09, 10:18 AM some parts are good and some dont fit worth the crud!!! ground up is a sponser here they are good to deal with too!! SonOfABodyMan Mar 19th, 09, 12:20 PM You may want to check out BelAirBob. I PM him for a large quote arount 8:44pm. To my surprise I had a quote back at 8:54pm. Gotta love that. I've also used NPD with no problems. 67z28 Mar 19th, 09, 01:13 PM NPD is doing good I guess, we quoted a new warehouse for them the other day here in Florida. rojo Mar 19th, 09, 01:16 PM I've bought a few things recently from them. Everything was fine. Vintage 68 Mar 19th, 09, 01:17 PM NPD is doing good I guess, we quoted a new warehouse for them the other day here in Florida. You are going to sneak a secret "trap-door" into the plan somewhere aren't you :D Dougs72Nova Mar 19th, 09, 07:24 PM I use them sometimes because they are only 15 minutes away. tonyb Mar 20th, 09, 04:56 AM Thanks for all tha replies looks like I'll give them a try. Rick@NPD Mar 20th, 09, 06:26 AM Yes, but make sure the part quality is equal to other vendors parts on certain items... They tend to carry the 'cheapest' of available "repopped" parts in many cases ;):confused::confused: This post was the last thing I ever thought I'd see spoken about our company. Not every reproduced part is of high quality, I think we all know that much... But we've always strived to offer the best that was available at any point in time. And if there's a cheap "adequate" repro and an expensive "superior" repro available, we try to carry BOTH, so that hobbyists can choose according to their standards, intended use, and their wallet. In any case, I'm not here to exploit and gin-up business. But if anyone, ever, knows of a part that we're carrying that is inferior to a part someone else is carrying, feel free to PM me. If it pans-out, I'll even ship you a free t-shirt! :D Don't let good prices tug you into the assumption that it must be inferior quality. We don't mark-up everything so we can run sales and discounts like a mattress store (we don't like wearing plaid). Product-sourcing is highly complex, proprietary, and circumstantial. There IS NO way to stereotype or generalize the subject, as each and every part has it's own story, it's own set of competitors, and in some cases, it's the only game in town. Sorry for interrupting. You can call me any name in the book, but inferring that we're the Harbor Freight of resto-parts suppliers? I had to speak up... ;) Brandan Mar 20th, 09, 07:56 AM I second what Rick said. I order most of my parts through NPD. If I order it by 1 or 2 in the afternoon I usually get it the next day at a reasonable shipping cost. If you spend over $300.00 they ship for free, except oversize or truck. The downside for me is that I am in FL so I pay the sales tax and the UPS guy gets to my house very late in the afternoon. Also when you call them you get a real person on the phone pretty darn quick. I gotta also give them a big thumbs up on the return policy. They give you 30 days to return something for money back and after the 30 days they have a 20% restocking fee. I have sent stuff back because of double ordering after the thirty days and put a list in with new stuff to order and they waived the restocking fee. (Try that with Rick's:() I just ordered a bunch of stuff last week (about 15 items) and only one item was on backorder (RS reverse light gasket). When I got the stuff I realized that I had the gasket already and didn't need it. When I called to cancel the backordered item they said that it already shipped. I got it that afternoon and the quality of the new gasket was better than what I had. I ended up changing out the gasket because NPD's quality (classic headquarters) was better. Brandan- 68 verti go Mar 20th, 09, 01:51 PM I have used NPD since the 1980's and never had a problem. camcojb Mar 20th, 09, 06:01 PM I love NPD. I used them almost exclusively for my Chevelle. Had a couple items that arrived damaged or not quite as nice as I thought they could be (and this was out of thousands of dollars worth of items and 15-20 shipments over time) and they always took care of it immediately, no questions asked. I can give you companies that won't do that (I won't to prevent bashing), but NPD has always been good in my book. Jody victimizati0n Mar 20th, 09, 06:12 PM i ordered my fenders from them only problem i had was the passenger side fender was bent in a weird way up front on the top, i didnt notice it, and i drilled holes for the camaro emblems, they wouldnt take it back and ship me a new one after i did that, so i guess im gonna have to use some putty.. other than that, they were good. Badbird Mar 20th, 09, 06:31 PM I've been dealing with National Parts Depot, here in Michigan, since the 90's!.....All the sheet metal on my 70 Chevelle SS454 was NPD's and it looked beautiful after paint!.....In my opinion, they have the highest quality parts for the lowest prices and I'm not talking just sheet metal either!.....I'm lucky enough to have an NPD store about 25 minutes from my residence however I've never been to their new store out in Canton, MI yet but been to the old Livonia, MI store many, many times throughout the years! |
