Does anyone have any photos of what the optional chrome door edge guards look like on a 69 Camaro? My car originally came with them but I don't think I have seen the real thing on a Camaro. Any idea if they are available from remans? Thanks.

They're on ebay all the time. Just do a search on CAMARO DOOR EDGE (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/69-CAMARO-DOOR-EDGE-GUARDS-STAINLESS-TRIM-NOS_W0QQitemZ310128565652QQihZ021QQcategoryZ140708 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and you should get several hits.
RICK'S (http://www.rickscamaros.com/product.asp?pf%5Fid=DE%2D6&dept%5Fid=3288) (among others) carries a repop verison.

Thanks Ed. Just wasn't sure what they look like on the Camaro. I have seen them before on newer vehicles but those are always the plastic reflector safety types.

The originals were secured with tabs that you fastened screws to.

My orinals and replacements (that havnt put on yet) just clip on..no swews...but if u have a lot of paint or edges are to thick you cant get them on without damaging paint.
They look ok if u have the rest of the trim ..cutter etc if not they look stupid even thu they are very thin.

It's always better to just touch up your paint than put those things on. And how often do you slam your doors into something????

I wouldn't put them on. Hard to fix it they get tweaked.

No screws on original door edge moldings - they're friction-fit, and were installed on the line with a rubber mallet; photos below of the originals on my '69 that have never been removed.

My car had them for years until I got it painted. I thought they looked good on an RS car. I never picked up another set...always wished I had.
