Your car has an LT1 in it not an LS1...

they'll fit- if you also get an LS1 to stuff in there. otherwise, no, they won't fit. the LS1 only shares the bore spacing and bellhousing bolt pattern with the old school small blocks. everything else is different- and i do mean EVERYTHING.

He, He!! Everything that is except the L and the 1!!!

BTW, I wonder how much hassle it would be to drop the heads off an LS1 on an LT1 block and come up with a modern head design for our engines??? pdq67

dum de dum
DUMB

get it right boys, the lt1 is gen2, the ls1 is gen3 . . . NOTHING from any other small block interchanges w/ an LS1
yes I know . . . I own 1 of each

ever seen the LS1 heads? 15 degree valve angle . . . spread exhaust ports . . . and the physical dimensions are totally different to boot

for bro'man: MAC shorties are super impressive and smog legal for you CA types (get 'em coated)

i also remember reading a long time ago when the LS1 first came out that the roller lifters are the same as 87 and newer small blocks, but are in some kind of plastic retainer or something. maybe the throttle cable is also interchangable from LT1 to LS1?

LS1's are in fourth gens not 3rd gen, would be cool though.
the LS1 really rock!
showed up a stang lastnight coming back from getting some P/V's at auto zone.
had to keep slowing down so he could catch up :D tongue.gif

did give me thumbs-up when I pulled off to my street!

lifters are different
throttle cable doesn't interchange

kid in the MFBA put an LS1 into his IROC

fastorange: do you have real ZR1 rims (17x11 rear) or just the 17x9 SS rims?

LOL! yeah, I meant engine family generation
I didn't even get that when I posted last, no biggie

I was asking fastorange because I am considering chrome ZR1's instead of the current silver ones (yes 17x11 rear w/ 315/35 Nitto Drags) on my '00 Z . . . was gonna powdercoat the silver ones white for my '94 Z . . . see it all makes sense in a long round kind of way :D
