What is the best type of extinguisher to put in the Camaro? Dry chemical or CO2 or anything else?. Where should I put it?, I am thinking the trunk.
Thanks in advance, Trevor

Dry chemical and interior - you want it to be available instantly.

It is a shame too because Halon worked very good on ABC fires without the mess of dry chemical.

Halon was great because it left nothing behind unlike the chemical ones. Wonder if you can find one on Ebay?

Trevor, Halon 1211 or better yet 1301 are both still available. We have them in all our aircraft and they can still be purchased from aircraft suppliers. Here is an example:

I've never purchased anything from this company, ours are all Walter Kiddie extinguishers.

Depends on your fuel....dry chem (Purple K) will handle most fuels ..... If your car is on fire you won't care about the mess

CO2 is only good for an enlosed area to cut off the oxygen. Do not use it for your car.

Halon (or Halotron), mounted inside the car where you can grab it and have it in your hand as you exit the car. I have one in each car, two in the garage, and one in the kitchen.

The best extinguisher is one that expires without ever being used!! I've had several of those in my kitchen.
