I would get a locksmith out to make new keys.
If thats not possible, some surgery will be needed. obviously the strng wheel, and t signal assy will need to come out.
You will have to push in on the "button" on the lock cylinder. But without a key it will not push in. Soooo, the button will have to be destroyed, anyway you can, to get the cylinder out.
I would get a locksmith, or if you have friends with old GM cars, try their keys.
My keys for the white car will work in my friends 68 camaro, also a customers 71 el camino, and my employees 90 suburban.

Did you buy a new switch, or just the lock cylinder? For 69, they are two different things, with the switch on top of the column where the dash and column meet, and the lock cylinder up on the side of the column near the wheel. For how to replace the lock cylinder, read the article Jim Shea (TC username JIML82) has on his site, entitled "
Std Strg Column 69-76 Disassembly & Repair Paper #1 (Rev 04DE07) - Replace lock cylinder & buzzer"

On a 69 the ignition and door share the same key. Just pull a door lock cylinder out and the Locksmith can make a new Key from the code stamped on the Key

The door, glove compartment and trunk use the same key. The ignition is different.

Nope. The ignition and doors use one key (the square head), and the glove box and trunk lid use the the other key (oval head).

You can access a tiny release tab that must be depressed, but in order to get to that, lots of parts need to be removed under your steering wheel.

Here's a quick list of what to remove so you can gain access to the ignition switch removal tab.

steering wheel
hazzard knob
top metal dust cover
top lock plate and retaining spring clip
horn contact
turn signal lever
turn signal switch
Then you can access that little tab that you have to press in and hold while pulling on the cylinder. If you look closely near the tip of the ignition cylinder, you will see a tiny window or access slot that you need to use to press in that little release tab.
