Help I just got a new bottle and when I attach my regulator it leaks. I tightened it down like no tomorrow, just in case I was weaker more than normal. Regulator go's in fine, but still leaking? I have a Miller 180 with a Smith regulator. Any thing you can add to help seal? Thanks

Is it where the bottle connects to regulator or is the regulator leaking. Was it connected to a bottle before without any leaks. Did you exchange bottles or do you have yours filled up. If it didnt leak before you changed the bottle, then take the bottle back if it is a swapout. If it is your bottle take some soap and water and see where it leaking from. The threads or from the center tube. Maybe use some teflon tape on the threads or you might have to replace the fitting on the regulator.

I agree take it back. The gas is not cheap to begin with. I would not use teflon tape or sealer on the threads because the seal is not made with the threads it's made by the fitting seating in the "cup" for lack of the correct terms. Simialr to an AN fitting.

Take your regulator off and check to be sure there is no debris preventing it from seating fully. Maybe the seat inside the bottle was damaged by a previous user so, take a look at that too.

Found it :o it was a split/crack in the hose going to the Mig. up near the regulator. Thanks everyone, this site rocks :hurray:
