I just bought a 1968 Camaro hull. It has a good rear frame but no spring buckets, rearend, springs, etc. It was a half way project for the dragstrip. Does anyone know where I can find measurements or dimension drawings to locate the rear axle centerline for the car? Where do I measure from to make sure the rear will be mounted square in the car? What are those measurements? Thanks for the help!

Hopefully I am understanding your question right. There should be holes in your subframe for the spring end brackets. Once you bolt the brackets in place and have the springs attatched to the brackets at the front you just bolt the differential to the springs. The springs have center bolts that locate the springs to the differential and then your U-bolts hold it there. Jack up the differential and connect the rear shackles and it should be right. If this doesn't answer your question, I can measure whatever you need on mine and post some numbers.

Thanks for the reply. I have no spring buckets or leaf springs. the rear has not been narrowed but it has been converted to coil over shocks and ladder bars. They did a poor job on the installation and it needs redone. I will be narrowing the rear and putting in a 4 link suspension. I have to know the original rear axle centerline to mark the floor pans and install the new rear frame cross member. I could buy buckets and leaf springs but would need them for about an hour to pull a tape. Kind of a waste of money. I may try to find a junk set. Thanks for your help.

Latitude? or Longitude? If latitude, can you simply measure the distance between the frame rails?
If longitude, would it as be as simple as measuring the lower part of the wheel openings in the body to determine the center for axle ends?
Or do I not understand the question?

The quarters have been replaced therefore may be incorrect. I need a measurement from the center of the rear bolt in the front subframe to the center of the rearend housing on each side or the measurement from the center of the bolt going through the front of the leaf spring back to the center of the rearend axle tube on each side. I know I'm asking alot but it is critical that the rearend is square to the centerline of the car also centered in the wheel well opening.
